Matt

Matt is a National Institute of Health (NIH) Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Comprehensive Cancer Center, whose passion for health extends from the cellular intricacies of cancer research to the tangible wellness solutions for everyday life.

With a PhD in Evolutionary Anthropology from UNM, complemented by targeted epigenetic training from Columbia University, statistical genetics expertise from the University of Washington, and a bioinformatics internship at the National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR), his work bridges the cutting edge of cancer research and practical product innovation.

His experience as a cancer researcher drove him to his quest for a clean deodorant that didn't contain harsh chemicals and carcinogens. After trying numerous all-natural deodorants that all failed to actually combat bad order and, worse yet, irritated his skin and stained his clothes, he decided to create something better. Having spent his formative years in Guatemala and Brazil, he was inspired by the efficacy of milk of magnesia in Latin American beauty regimes. Recognizing magnesium’s pH-altering proper- ties that prevent odor-causing microbes while being gentle on the skin and promoting overall health, including anticancer benefits, he was determined to harness its power. Despite initial application challenges, his dedication over six years culminated in the perfect formula: an all-natural deodorant that actually works.
